PHOTOGRAPHY:

1.) Saddling Up
The lighting in this photo is good because there aren't many overcast shadows blocking anything. It really brings out the subject itself.
Balance
Celeste Hermes
It is exposed properly
I see a shallow depth of field
2.) Training To be the Best
I like how they used black and white photos to change it up a little bit. The subject is very close.
Avoiding Mergers
Dawson Warnken
Properly Exposed
Shallow depth of field
3.) Practicing her Technique
This photo's lighting could be much better. It seems almost a little too unfocused and needs to be brightened up.
Simplicity
Bella Cuminato
Not Properly Exposed
Shallow depth of field
4.) Focusing On the Yo-yo
I think this photo is very well planned. They have a very simple background so that they can focus on the subject, and the black and white really adds to the effect.
Simplicity
Matthew Lane
Properly Exposed
Deep Depth of Field
5.) Girls Just want to Have Fun(damental rights)
This is a very good photo. It is clear what the subject is, while still having an interesting back ground.
Leading Lines
Protester
Properly Exposed
Deep depth of Field

My favorite photo is "Jumping Hurdles" because it is very clear and had an awesome subject. The rules I see are avoiding mergers, leading lines, and balance.

My least favorite is "practicing her technique" because I feel it has no effort put into it. The rules I see are rule of thirds and simplicity.

I would have loved to do the story on the senior with Cystic Fibrosis and her horse.

I would rate this issue an eight out of ten. It is very well put together and thought out and I think it is clear for the most parts what the subjects cover.

Intro to Newspaper Design

1. My favorite front page news paper is the San Fransisco Examiner. I like this one because the page is one that is dominated by a photo and captures more attention to the article.

2. "All Haight, No Love" interests me because they incorporate the story into the headline and it makes the viewer curious as to why that is. I think it was clever because capturing attention like that will get more viewers for your newspaper.

3. There are four stories on the front of my favorite newspaper.

4.  Most of the stories have some kind of photo of an event or time period to draw in the viewers. Font size mainly stays the same.

5. Things that differ are things such as placement with the headlines and photos. They also differ in the effect of whether they have more text or more images.

Website Review

Website: https://fstoppers.com/

The website’s main intention is clearly to give out tips and pointers on how to use cameras and how to get proper lighting so that your photos always look clear and focused. They also have information about cameras and what the buttons mean and how you can use them to your advantage. It is very interesting and useful.
Some of the things they write about include written stories and reviews on things such as organizing kids photo walks. The stories and reviews are meant to draw in and promote their website. Most of their posts are reviews or stories on technology.

The average viewer can see advice and such in how to use the camera and how to learn to take great pictures. The website is very useful to people who don’t really know what they’re doing as far as taking pictures and operating the camera goes. I will definitely add this website to my bookmarks because I think it is a very useful website. In case I ever forget anything important I can just look back to the website so I can figure out what I’m missing. I would most definitely recommend the website because I think that anyone who might need help or assistance, or just anyone in general, could use the extra tips and it could really help. I would rate this website a four because as much as I got out of it, it didn’t really have an organized look. It almost looked like a bunch of ads clustered together and I would rather have something more organized to navigate.
