The Six Rules

(Rule of Thirds)

I chose this image for rule of thirds. I chose this because the firefighters are clearly meant to be the main point made in this picture and they are put to the far right, which is the rule of thirds.

(Lines)

I chose this image for lines. I chose this because the lines clearly contrast with the man's body to bring him more into focus.

(Balance)

I chose this image for balance. I chose this because the background is mostly the same and the firefighters are meant to be showing a sign of strength, by centering them with that background it is very well balanced.

(Framing)

I chose this image for framing. I chose this because the man in the foreground really frames the plane in the back. You can see his terror and urge to get away at the same time you are seeing why he is so scared.

(Simplicity)

I chose this image for simplicity. I chose this because this image is focused on this one woman that had just taken shelter and was covered in ash. She was clearly in a moment of pure being.

(Avoiding Mergers)

I chose this image for avoiding mergers because this picture is clearly avoiding any clear mergers. It just shows the moment where a man rescued a woman and is comforting her.
